Diana's story
An American
who chose
Yorkshire.
Diana D'Alessio grew up in the United States and spent 15 years as a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour and European Tour, competing in 12 countries and representing brands including Titleist, Callaway and Vtech.
In 2019, she moved to North Yorkshire. Not temporarily. She came, fell in love with the place, and settled. In April 2026 she moved to Ampleforth itself, where she has opened a private massage therapy studio at home.
"I've had surgery on my shoulder, both knees and my hip. I know exactly what it feels like when your body lets you down — and what it takes to get it back. That's why I retrained as a massage therapist. I genuinely love this work and I love this community."
She is also a breast cancer survivor. She is the secretary of Hovingham Tennis Club and plays at David Lloyd York. She cares deeply about the people she treats.
